Who Is Behind Hare Publishing?

Hare Publishing was founded by Bruce, a lifelong puzzle enthusiast with more than 30 years of experience creating and solving logic-based puzzles. Long before becoming a publisher, puzzles were part of his daily life—offering focus, comfort, and clarity during busy routines and challenging periods.

Today, Hare Publishing remains founder-led and independently run. Bruce personally oversees puzzle design and review to ensure that every book and puzzle reflects his passion for creating enjoyable, thoughtfully structured solving experiences.

Why Did Hare Publishing Begin?

Hare Publishing grew out of a lifelong relationship with puzzles. From an early age, puzzles were a familiar and comforting presence—something to focus on, enjoy, and return to during quiet moments. Over the years, they became a regular part of daily life, offering relaxation and mental engagement during long commutes, busy workdays, and moments of downtime.

After a long and rewarding career in public service, retirement offered the opportunity to put decades of technical and creative skills to use in new ways. During the COVID era, it became clear that many people were looking for the same sense of calm, focus, and simple enjoyment that puzzles had always provided.

Hare Publishing was created to share that experience more widely—to offer thoughtfully designed puzzles that people could turn to for relaxation, clarity, and a small but meaningful sense of progress in their day.
